Y'all ever think about how amazing our bodies and brain are? How we are here for a purpose? Even if we don't understand why or haven't found that purpose yet, we were born and you are here reading this post (thank you). Did you know that the odds of you being born is 1 in 4 trillion!? Thats pretty cool. You are pretty cool. We have the ability to heal ourselves both mentally and physically. It's takes a while; some internal wounds or broken bones take longer, and often times people forget that we still need to continue with rehab after the injury feels better. When it comes to healing and growing psychologically, even as we age, we can still pursue new ways of living and thinking, along with being able to create and explore new opportunities. We have the capability to continue to rewire the brain to think and respond differently.
As we work through unlearning limiting beliefs, we find ways to become stronger. We continue to protect our loved ones and add to other peoples lives by just being in them. Most of the time, we don't realize the impact that we have on others. We don't understand all that we do for one another; how our existence benefits one another. One thing I would like to encourage people to do, is to express your gratitude for others, to others.
Part of being a superhero is honoring your past and your present. There is always an initiation phase: where we learn and find opportunities to practice what it means to be an individual. Developing integrity by identifying our personal values. Discovering the things that bring you happiness, joy, and peace of mind. We carry that with us where ever we go. When you hone in on your super powers, a shift happens: your essence becomes contagious to like minded people. You become a magnet that carries around a subtle confidence that is profound and doesn't need to be proven. When you find that balance of assertion, confidence and kindness, it gives other people permission to express and connect with the world differently, freely. As I get older, I am finding that real strength is knowing how to remain calm, and not feed into the BS of the world. To recognize that it is there, yet hold onto your purpose and do what you need to do, regardless of what others may think. Being able to be authentic and own your decisions is powerful.
To the people that are still trying to find their inner superhero, start small. Celebrate getting out of bed. Celebrate all of the small accomplishments throughout the day. Ease into the discomfort of trying something new; take small steps to get out of your comfort zone. This is how you start to build confidence. Bit by bit, doing one thing that challenges you and being like "Fuck yeah! I did that!". Become your own cheer-leader, especially in those times when it is hard. I know you can do it. Practice being patient and kind, even if it feels foreign to you. Step outside. Follow that little nudge that says, "I want to do this." Or listen to those pestering thoughts that are getting louder and louder; start to act on them. If you view everyday as an opportunity, I am positive you will have experiences that will plant a seeds of hope, validation or encouragement. That experience could even be a profound internal realization. Just follow your heart, your bliss and be creative in your approach.
